We won't end up with one of every letter because we will only have the option to skip the already used letters. It isn't required. There will be a number of letters that people use multiple times either liking the options there or not liking the options ahead.

The rule is designed to protect so that someone doesn't get U or Z multiple times and have to pick a number of them. It does allow some flexibility and maybe some might think too much flexibility. Guess I thought we were allowing it since there were no objections.

Sorry JoeyC and Mikearechambault that I did not clarify the "ADDENDUM" earlier because you all have a valid point. It was never my intention to have someone skip multiple letters in a given turn.

Please see if this makes sense:

9 - Each owner is allowed 3 SKIPS. A SKIP = you are allowed to SKIP to the NEXT LETTER if you don't like what you are delt. You get 3 and only 3 skips.
ONLY ONE SKIP per turn. You can not use 2 SKIP's to move 3 letters down the road unless one is a FREE skip due to no letters left for that spot.

Using the above example, the next in line after BONDS would be "C". You can say something like this:
"C" - SKIP (1) "C" and pick "D" - DiMaggio 11.57 Mil …please keep track of your SKIPS so we know
NOTE- the guy after you normally is very pissed off ! (that's part of the fun)


ADDENDUM to this rule:

In the event come to a letter than you already have, you may skip that letter w/o penalty (w/o using one of your FREE skips) to go to the next available letter. You may only use this to move to 1 letter down the road. All other rules above apply.

I trust this will be acceptable? I don't think we need more than 1 otherwise we'd be "cherry picking" the good letters.

I like that idea - with only 3 free skips, it's limited.

Yes, assuming you have them.

This is 1 extra move in addition to our original rule.


Example:

If I get to "P" then I can use a free skip to get the "Q", then since I have "Q" already, I can move over to "R".
....no further than that unless "R" is someone empty of players.

Just to be crystal clear

You only get 3 FREE skips but the only limitation on the duplicate letter skip is 1x per turn.

Thus, toward the end many of us will be skipping quite often.

A few options there...none that I was wild about but will see how the rest of this pans out. Loving this draft.

I might be up for another after we are done with the added wrinkle of randomizing the order of the letters each time through the alphabet to change it up a bit.

I'll say it........pacoboy....you are a weasel!!!! Thought about skipping to get Snider but hated to use one this early. Also the R options were usable...and thought Snider would last at least another time or two through. There are other options though.
