Reverse Lineups

PostMon Mar 02, 2015 6:56 pm

I haven't played any 20xx set since 2011 and just noticed there are now reverse lineups! I guess I better setup a more balanced starting rotation now.

Heavily slanted spot starters aren't needed as much as before. I originally had a cheap fifth man to offset Jared Weaver's weakness against lefties but that's really pointless now.

Unfortunately there is no control with these. What I mean is if you set a reverse lineup the game will use it for any level of reverse pitcher. You could be facing a RHP that's a 1L and it will use the reverse lineup which to my way of thinking is 't ideal. We've asked since they introduced this feature to give it some sort of control, something like only use if 4L/4R or greater but it's seemingly fallen on deaf ears.

This lack of differentiation generally keeps me from using the feature as a "set and leave alone" kind of thing. It is really more of a "series to series" decision, which gets to be tiresome (or just plain missed some days).

What he said I don't bother with it most of the time because to me as it exists its fundamentally flawed.

You are right, looks like you need to clear your reverse lineups if you don't want them used against pitchers that are better balanced. Even so, having a tool that compares the chances between a specific batter and pitcher would be nice.

This got me thinking. I wonder how many times Scooter Gennett will face Clayton Kershaw this year. If my calculations are right he has a 10% chance getting on base. :o
