There would be 300 picks (25 players X 12 teams) in a live draft. We could set the time limit to be 30 seconds. Then at most it would take 150 minutes (2 1/2 hours).

But I'm OK just doing rounds here on the boards if that is the way people want to go. It avoids us having to line up bad starting pitchers as proxies for stadiums. And it seems likely somebody would have a technical glitch with the live draft and be stuck with a lineup he doesn't want.

After being in the Players Championship leagues (Tom and I are each now in different 2013 player set semi-final leagues), I've come around to liking auto-drafts. With $100 million leagues, I think it's good to get a few known players on your roster before submitting the entire lineup, but I think doing, say, four rounds (three players and a unique stadium) on the boards would give everybody a good start to their team.

I, too, would prefer a shorter draft on the live board here, of limited rosters. But I would lean toward more than four rounds, perhaps not as many my original 14 round, but maybe ten (nine players and a stadium?). But if people want to get this off the ground early, we can do fewer rounds. I mean, we could start drafting now.

I do believe it will be unlikely all 12 players will be able to draft without technological snafu.

live drafts are done weekly on the boards, by guys who don't even know each other. if we can all be there sunday at 9 or 10 why not knock it out instead of days on the boards. we could start drafting here now and just proxy those guys, but the draft order will be different on the SOM Ssight. I might be able to get Strat to put us in the same order for a live draft but we'd need lead time. why don't I set up live draft for sunday night on the sight, and if all 12 are in, we go, if not full, the draft won't happen and we start drafting on the boards.
