I will also bet he didn't deny using that Nazi poem to implicitly compare SOM to Nazis and SOM's Forum rules to Nazi silencing. Now that everyone knows he wrote it, he can't deny he made the comparison, he can only make excuses and cover it up.

This was actually a fun forum thread, despite some bumps, its' too bad Salty had to ruin it with his obsessions with me and his lame excuses for his past heinous comparisons.

How does one respond to this?

I guess the relationship between 3rd basemen and westerns is what exactly?

You don't. What's the point of responding? Your response will generate a response, which you will respond to, and so on and so on. It only ends when you get tired of the pointlessness of answering back. Not that I am some wise Yoda on this, I had to learn for myself...but you did ask the question. The "foe" function helps if you want to use it.

Sure turtle;
I dont disagree with that.

Does that mean I should post a thread about top 5 non-sequiturs/relief pitchers?
b/c I have it all ready to go.

The first thing being that SoM in the past has not allowed threads like this on the forum- meaning that threads that were partly about baseball but largely about something else with absolutely no relation to baseball were removed or shut down. I'm not SoM- but there does not seem to be a consistent standard here

Ok Snitchy! If you don't like the topic don't post or read it.

Thats fair enough-
but why does the same not hold true for all of the other threads that got locked?

BTW- the only thread I have ever reported in the 6 years Ive been here is the one where mssr. Strether knowingly lied about what I had said;
and the reason I say 'knowingly' is b/c even after it was pointed out to him that he was incorrect, he continued to repeat it.

Here you go, Turlle. You can un-bait your breath, and there's no nosequiturs. I look forward to your response. Maybe you and others could actually talk about baseball for once... ;)

Top Closers Right Now
1. Craig Kimbrel, ATL--Hard thrower with wicked curve has been elite closer for years.
2. Greg Holland, KC--Nasty fastball belies his short stature. Best pitcher on KC staff.
3. Mark Melancon, PIT--Journeyman with wicked cutter has found dominance in PIT.
4. Aroldis Chapman, CIN--Has settled in the bullpen with his ungodly heat.
5. Zack Britton, BLT--Lefty with outstanding repertoire fully arrived as bullpen ace last year.
6. Jonathan Papelbon, PHI--Old horse still has some gas and lots of wiles in the tank.
7. Dellin Betances, NY--Will rise much higher on the list when he shows he can close.
8. Jake McGee, TB--Hard throwing lefty finally has the closer's job after Balfour's flameout
9. David Robertson, CWS--Crafty veteran set-up man has shown he can also close for contending Sox
10. Trevor Rosenthal, STL--Has the blazing fastball to rise much higher this year...if he improves his command.

Greatest One-hit Wonders.
1. My Sharona by The Knack. The best stuttering song since My Generation and a true power pop confection.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW4bzukEp44
2. No Myth by Micheal Penn. Sean's kid brother has had a brilliant career, but this Beatlesque tune was his only hit.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxkJHX7ukKE
3. Radar Love by Golden Earring. Twilight Zone was never quite a hit, so this rocker is these Dutchmen's legacy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NzZ1mCNbNA
4. Boston by Augustana. San Diego band penned the starting over song of the Oughts with this beautiful ballad.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ASJBXu8tNo
5. Far Behind by Candlebox. Seattle rockers missed the Grunge explosion but left their mark with this fierce elegy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-LW6m0zX5A
6. Angel Eyes by Jeff Healey. More famous for Roadhouse, but this blind bluesman also wrote this lovely one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kag0TsZzxpw
7. Go All the Way by The Raspberries. My only repeat appearance. Eric Carmen's brilliant power-pop masterpiece.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Swicdtaddy0
8. The Freshmen by The Verve Pipe. A haunting 90's Cat Stevenish ballad of loss, guilt, and regret.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1umEXpGHc0E
9. Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield. One of the greatest songs of jealousy and unrequited love ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYkbTyHXwbs
10. Criminal by Fiona Apple. She's written many brilliant songs, but this dark groove-filled one was her only hit.

Not that I'm a fan, but Rick Springfield was more than a 1 hit wonder. Jesse's girl was his biggest hit but far from his only one. "I've Done Everything For You" hit number 8 on the Billboard charts off the same album and he had a number 2 hit on billboards charts a few years later with "Don't Talk to Strangers"

I'd substitute: "99 luftballons" by Nena or "Betty Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes for Mr Springfield, just off the top of my head.

How about football instead? Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy. Alonso is a very promising linebacker and with running backs getting drafted lower and lower lately, the Bills may have overpaid.

I'm sure he's an expert on that too.
