Manager Ratings

If strat did have manager ratings; what would you want to see.

I'm guessing-
Number of teams,
Winning %
Playoff teams
Championships

Anything else?

And why couldn't we just do this ourselves for ATG7 and 8?

The manager ratings promised by SOM are LONG overdue. If I remember correctly, they were promised to be done after SOM completed importing and updating data from the old TSN site. That was completed long ago, but still no word from SOM on when manager ratings will be available or published. As a matter of fact, SOM has been uncharacteristically silent on the issue.

Hmmm......Methinks that SOM has decided against issuing manager ratings as promised, and has decided not to tell us such for fear of community backlash and by remaining silent it hopes that the issue will just fade away.

However, if SOM does finally get around to issuing manager ratings, in addition to including a breakdown as set forth above by CTStough, I'd like the manager ratings to include, as they have in the past, a breakdown of the above info by player set, such as '70s, '80s, '90s, ATG1, ATG2, ATG3 (all versions) ATG4, etc., etc., the annual seasonal game by season (2009, 2010, 2011, etc., etc.). Also, in addition to playoff teams and championships, the number of Finals made should also be included.

If SOM plans to keep its word and issue manager ratings, it is beyond me why they have failed to do so by now. Although I'm no computer expert, it would seem that the basic program for such ratings has already been created, so the wheel would not have to be reinvented, as SOM claimed with the live draft, and that it's just a matter of sorting available data to arrive at ratings.

How about it, John Garcia, where are the manager ratings? Your silence on this issue has been deafening!

Do you want the ATG7 info or just 8 or what?

What I would like to see is all the results of all types of leagues from the start of the present site till now.

I think it makes sense to break it out by basic player set, e.g: ATG, 70s, 80s, 90s, 20xx. If they want to make distinctions between ATG7 & ATG8, that would be fine but not essential in my book.

I'd be fine with using the old Sporting News rating system, which had its flaws but was basically useful.

If SOM can actually factor in the old SN results, that would be great, but at this point I'd be happy to have just the results from the present site.

I emailed these thoughts to SOM a few months ago, but received no reply.

They're back (have been back) to picking and choosing who and when then want to respond...turns out 1 programmer...or add 3 more...if the leopard at the top refuses to change his spots, the underlings just follow their apathetic leader.

But hey let's just add some more cards every month or so...and when we say every month or so, we really mean every three months.

I would like to see the manager ratings brought back so I can receive my just propers. I make the playoffs at a ridiculously high percentage.

The old managers ratings system wouldn't give you your propers, RB, which you definitely deserve. Since it privileged total wins and total championships won, a player with a worse winning percentage and success rate than yours could end up with a higher managers rating.

If they do bring back managers ratings, it would be best if they installed one that actually privileged manager success and efficiency, not credits bought.
