I do not see anything about prospect picks in here. No clear rule on that.

Why would you be able to trade prospect picks you do not own if you are not allowed to trade FA picks you do not own?

These rules may not be very well written but I believe the intent is clear.

let's wait for Peter to chime in as commish.

We could vote

obviously Ted made an accidental oversight which none of us caught until draft started either, I would hate to punish a guy and make him lose several picks. If it was one 2nd round pick or something like that oh well, but we're looking at 5 picks.

Rules should have been make alot clearer than they are. The whole issue with FA draft has been well documented this year, too bad most leagues just use the same rules, verbatim in alot of cases.

FWIW...Peter emailed me a friendly reminder a couple of months back that I had 7 prospects with 5 picks coming in the Spring Prospect Draft and our max was 10 so I'd have to make room for the 5 picks or forfeit them.

Men, I've been made aware of the prospect draft question involving Ted's 5 picks and 10 prospects. Draft is on hold until I can review all the info and bylaws sometime tonight or tomorrow - be patient and please post or email me if you have an opinion on the matter. Let's keep it civil - remember, it's a GAME. I'll listen to any opinions and do my best to keep the peace:) Peter

Guys,

Honestly, I'm not really sure what the issue is. The only relevant rule I see is that you can't have more than ten prospects. There are no rules against releasing a prospect at any time, so, worst case, I would have to release a prospect before making my pick. Since I've made a deal to free up space before it's even my turn to pick, we're good to go. I'll deal with pick #13 before I draft.

I think the rule is technically written for FA picks and wasn't in mind for pros. If the issue is he traded picks for picks what if he traded actual prospects for picks to open space? The result would end up being the same.

If a manager has 10 prospects, then his bucket is full. If he pours a few out of the bucket, then he has room for more.
