I was talked down from posting what I really think.

Terry, you couldn't possibly be more disrespectful toward me. I will vote no purely on principle.

Terry could have written to me before my ruling, but instead he chooses to propose a rule change without a discussion or even letting the commish know.

My original post was better.

In short - now I know EXACTLY what you think of me Terry. Way to show your hand.

If a manager wishes to make one or more of his standard new prospect picks in such a case, then enough current prospects must be promoted or traded in order to make space available.

Peter, there was no disrespect intended. I posted my thoughts on the matter several times. If you read the ILC thread, I believe you'll know exactly why I raised this issue.

As to your ruling, it was probably right on target since the rules did not address this question. My proposed rule change FOR THE FUTURE is to simply make it easier the next time this comes up.

BTW, a few years ago, I was on the receiving end of a trade like this -- which, after lengthy discussion, was voted down by the other managers. By the time the discussion ended, I agreed with them.

what does this mean?
4) Regular players can be released from the 40-man roster only for the following reasons: a) pre-draft release prior to the Annual Spring Free Agent draft; b) pre-draft release prior to the Supplemental free agent draft; c) to bring a roster down to the 40-man limit as a result of an unbalanced transaction.

Joe Kelly was not drafted. He was released against the rules. Why can't I pick him up and just cut another player?

Ok this is partly my fault as I was the one that made the trade with Ted. Yes I got something out of it but really didn't want to see a guy lose 5 picks, as Peter said at great expense. Yes it should have been dealt with before the draft I think we all agree, it was a mistake. I think Peter did the best he could to correct it without punishing Ted terribly. I voted YES to hopefully put an end to this. Between this argument and the one about FA's, this has not been enjoyable at all.

Can we just make it a dead issue now? It's done, the players are dropped, they can be drafted in the sup draft. That or we can all just finish season 1 (since it's started already) and say goodbye to the MLKL in 8 weeks.

He was not released against the rules. I traded for him and dropped him to get roster down to 40, as the rule is written.

I can drop it with no problem at all, I was just trying to understand the rules.
