I had no idea that site existed -- and look what I found on the very first page:

Dwight Evans launches 3 home runs in 10-5 victory over Ellingtons

'80s - garmonaitis 10, ClowntimeIsOver 5

Dwight Evans smashed 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI at The Kingdome where the Hasbrouck Hts Hitmen beat the Duke Ellingtons 10 to 5.

i'd much prefer more play options and cards than a ratings system. There's no context involved in it. One manager might be trying all sorts of things because it's fun, while another might be drafting the same 9 mashers in 100m DH leagues. Ratings in an autopilot game are bs. Pretty sure it'd be a different story in face to face play. In this online version, nione of us are really managing.

You're absolutely right about context, which is why any managers rating system shouldn't be taken too seriously. However, a well-thought-out one could be useful for rough evaluations and would gratify those particularly wanting one. As to SOM online managing, it is managing. It's an entirely different brand of managing than face-to-face managing, but it's definitely managing. Also, it involves general managing/team management skills not required by board-game play. So, SOM online managing does not necessarily require the lesser managing skill set.

I don't care too much for a ratings system per se...but some numbers for us, perhaps by cap, park and some totals as well..They had it before the move...I don't even care if it's all private....

and I'd always prefer game options and games fixes like mentioned earlier.

I agree Nev - even the data regarding how often certain players were used on playoff teams for pretty cool. And the game engine is rudimentary at best.
