Brandon Phillips

PostSun Apr 12, 2015 8:15 am

I'm a returning player and I have sat out for a couple of years. So, I'm a little rusty. I received Phillips in my draft and his card overall just does not look that good to me. I also received Dyson and feel the same about his card. I have Martin at Catcher and Harrison at 3B. I could drop down their payroll and find some players to replace Phillips and Dyson. But, I'm not sure it's the right move. I'm also concerned about Phillips injury 3 rating. But, at his price point only Barney is available. Any suggestions?

There are a bunch of 2 rated 2B backups around the $1M level. The biggest concern about Phillips is the high number of gb(a) chances against RHP rather than injury. I'm having good success with Martin and Dyson, but it is a PNC small ball team. Have Martin leading off and Dyson in the 9 spot. Solid defense, but I'm not sure why Martin has 9 errors so far. Hard to advise when we don't know your ballpark

I have Phillips in a couple keeper leagues and a couple other leagues. So far this season, he has been dismal in ALL of them. Obviously, his slick fielding is nice to have out there. However, if you want a player who bats around .200, .270 OBP, .300 SL, then Phillips is your man! Oh yeah, and his "3" injury rating puts him on the DL a lot.
