Just wanted to remind you of which I'm sure you all know already - the NEL players don't have any pure relievers.
What would be the solution there?

Musial good catch on the pure relievers. We'll have to A) get SOM to add some or B) use RP from the MLB teams. So I guess its B.

On second thought I wonder if SOM can turn that requirement off? hmmmm Worth an ask. Back soon with some news hopefully.

My question to SOM...
Is there anyway you can turn off the requirement for 5 pure relievers for our league so we can build our NeL rosters with as many NeL players as possible?

This is what SOM responded with...
It's a good idea but unfortunately we cannot lift the requirement for a specific league, it's based on the player set. The only thing we can do is force moves that would normally go against requirements. So after the draft, you can write us which players should be added to the roster and we can manually do so, overriding the roster restrictions. However any teams that do this would not be able to make a transaction during the season without contacting us first. The other option would be to add MLB reliever-only players.

So once we get our 12th let's discuss the option we want to go with, MLB relievers or NeL pitchers with SOM's help.

heading off to work, where I have no internet access. I will check in around 5pm, maybe a bit before.

Few things to sort out before we start...

1) Teams - Since there will be 6 NeL and 6 MLB teams we need to determine who gets what. Indicate which you'd prefer, NeL, MLB or don't care. If there's too many on one side we'll assign by order that signed up.

2) Relievers - The intent was to keep the NeL rosters as pure as possible, but while SOM's offer of manually adjusting rosters is nice it could prove cumbersome, especially if it limits/delays roster moves in season. Vote: MLB Relievers or NeL Relievers with SOM's help

3) Draft - Once we determine the NeL franchises I suggest we draft some rounds on the boards to limit the auto drafting causing havoc with the teams. I'd say lets do the whole draft on the boards but that could take way too long. thoughts/suggestions?

Here's my thoughts:

Relievers: List the top 36 pure relievers from 1921 to 1955 and assign every other one to the NEL teams and the intervening ones to the MLB teams.

MLB or NEL choice - first get a definitive list of the MLB players that are assigned to the NEL teams so we know what the choices are - hopefully with the additions the NEL franchises will be competitive enough. Then either a random number order to either assign NEL or MLB to each manager or give them their choice.

Draft: If you have 6 guys drafting in one corner the MLB teams and 6 guys in another corner drafting NEL teams a draft on these boards might not be that time-consuming or cumbersome. Draft 10, 15 and then finish with autodraft, or all the players....???

Anyway - just some ideas.
