Negro Leagues vs MLB *NeL Draft*

Did we get a randomizer to start the RP draft? Let's try to get the ball rolling ... I don't see how we can finish by tomorrow night, but worth a shot.

After thinking about it there are two ways to determine the RP draft order.

Randomizer OR
Reverse the original franchise draft order

I'm inclined to go with reversing the order but this is no longer a dictatorship so interested in some opinions.
Thoughts?

I agree that reversing the franchise draft order is the way to go ... the randomizer could potentially give too much advantage to the strongest franchises. Looking at the MLB rosters, it's clear they have an advantage in terms of the wealth of players available ... stronger lineups and better starting pitching options. The NeL has individual great players, but there are simply more to choose from in the MLB. So any way to give a little help to the weaker franchises is a good idea. just my two cents ...

Best way to do it.

Just looking at Musial's team: Ruth, Mize, Berra, Hack Wilson, Medwick, Rosen, Stephens. Monster hitters. That roster $$$ strategy leaves him with weak pitching, but the NeL teams all have fairly weak pitching too. There's simply no way for the NeL teams to stack up with that kind of lineup.

It's going to be an interesting experiment, but I don't think we've figured out a way to create equitable teams.

Maybe next time -- if we try again -- go with four NeL teams, all in one division, and 8 MLB teams? That will strengthen the NeL talent per team and dilute the MLB talent somewhat.
