Player Parameters
• 100 mil cap
• 23 mil min must be used for all Bench, Relievers and 5th SP (even after dropping down to 24 if desired). Which will leave 77 mil max for your 4 other SP’s and 8 Starting Position players
• All MLB Players must be carded for the years 1920 to 1955, except for those assigned to the NeL, which are limited to the years assigned
• MLB teams are allowed only 1 player at $10 mil or above
• Pure Relief pitchers must cost $2.73 mil or less
• Only two Bench players below $1.5 mil allowed
• All SP’s on MLB teams must be greater than $3 mil
• NeL teams must draft a NeL 5th SP. If a NeL team chooses to carry a 10th Pitcher and that pitcher has a SP rating it can be from the NeL or the MLB set. BUT staying with the intent of this league, that 10th Pitcher value IF FROM THE MLB SET cannot exceed the value of your 5th SP on a NeL team.

Sorry for laying that last one on everyone just now, but as we've all figured out at this point as we get deeper into this concept we have and will encounter little areas of vagueness. It seems to me that a NeL team could draft a low end 5th NeL SP and a better 10th MLB SP/RP that could play a more significant role. I could be wrong but that's how I see it so I wanted to eliminate that temptation.

Below is the draft order for the RP/5th SP draft based on a reverse of the original franchise draft order. 6 rounds. No minimum value for RP’s. Remember 4 of your RP’s must be pure RP, no SP rating. Your 5th SP can have a RP rating as well as your 5th RP.

Now that the NeL draft is completed we can determine the divisions and draft the RP’s and 5th SP. I will request 2 randomizers of 6 numbers each. The first set will be applied to the NeL teams and the second set to the MLB teams. We will then group the divisions together by (1,2), (3,4), (5,6).

Question was asked about trades, yes trades are allowed but only NeL to Nel and MLB to MLB. And the rosters must still adhere to the player parameters. Also just because you drafted a player doesn't mean you can't swap them out once waivers start.

Very close. 6 round draft with 4 Pure RP, 1 SP (5th SP) AND 1 other Pitcher. That 6th pitcher can be a Pure RP or a RP with SP rating. The NeL teams must choose a 5th SP from the NeL. For the 6th Pitcher the NeL teams can choose from either the NeL or MLB cards, but if the NeL teams choose a MLB card for the 6th P and it has a SP rating, its value cannot be more than the 5th NeL SP. Whew, mouthful. Make sense?

I realize what I'm about to post could result in total anarchy but I wouldn't be true to the intent of the league if I didn't raise it to the group.

The goal of this league has always been to take the best NeL talent and compete against comparable MLB talent from the barnstorming era, pre wide spread integration. It is now apparent (and yes I fully recognize quite a few of you had pointed this out, some numerous times) , that the NeL is leaving out some top talent. That's why I originally had us at 120 mil, but that was definitely too high, it seems now that 100 mil is just a tad low.

My suggestion (as I wince and wait for the reaction) is that we load our teams at 105 or 107 to allow for that one extra top player during waivers on the NeL teams. This will also allow the MLB teams to upgrade a few guys or pick up a better player during waivers. I fully realize your draft strategy would've changed slightly, especially toward the end.

So please before you blast me for thinking about changing things mid stream, pause and think about how you see the season unfolding before you respond. I'm perfectly comfortable continuing on the current 100 mil path, but do believe the increase would benefit the league.

I would like responses from all managers.

Whatever you think works for the competitive-ness of the league - you have my agreement.

I am in agreement as well. It just makes sense to allow the NeL teams to field their most competitive team.

Yes you determine the priority of when you pick them.
