Franchise Infusion League!

Franchise Infusion League!
Eager to get into another franchise-based league, I've decided just to start one; this theme is based on all-time winning percentages for the teams in the league. Salary Cap: 158 million (representing 139 years of major league play coupled with 19 years of play in the now defunct major leagues.) DH, 5/10/20; stadia selections must come from one of the primary franchises below.
Roster selection for the primary teams can come from any of the four eras defined in Strat (DB, Pre, Post, EXP); these primary squads will be supplemented with talent from the infusion squads matched to them. Players from these franchises must come from the Expansion era only. These match-ups are based on reverse all-time winning percentages. Thus, the Yankees, with the best percentage, will be matched with the Padres, who own the 30th spot, the Giants (2) with the Mariners (29); the other squads will be matched accordingly. The most recent expansion squads are not included in the percentage rankings because of the limited player pool, while the Angels and Blue Jays are also not included since their higher winning percentages leave them without a primary partner. Players from these franchises as well as NeL players comprise the free agent pool. Each franchise grouping may select one free agent from that FA group to add to the roster; the draft order is also based on winning percentage, so the Braves/A’s will select first in the FA draft (conducted on the ILC) prior to the auto draft with the other teams following accordingly.

Primary squads/ Infusion squads:
1. Yankees / Padres EXP
2. Giants / Mariners EXP
3. Dodgers / Phillies EXP
4. Cardinals/ Rangers EXP
5. Red Sox / Orioles EXP
6. Cubs / Brewers EXP
7. Indians/ Mets EXP
8. Tigers / Twins EXP
9. Reds / Nationals/Expos EXP
10. White Sox / Royals EXP
11. Pirates / Astros EXP
12. Braves / Athletics EXP
Player eligibility: Highest salary determines franchise ownership; thus Bonds belongs to the Giants, Hornsby to the Cards, et al. Players whose highest salary is carded to any of the franchises not part of the above league structure, i.e. the FA teams, remain the property of those FA pool teams. Thus, for example, Clemens is Blue Jay property but is eligible for FA draft selection as a supplementary player by any of the franchise teams. I think this should be fun – please give it a try!

One question regarding FA pool teams- using your example above, does that mean Clemens cannot be drafted by the Red Sox - they own the highest salary card of any owned franchise, but because he's a FA pool guy does that mean no one can put him on their original draft card?

Thanks, Treyomo for joining in!

Yes, because Clemens highest salary is as a Blue Jay, he remains their property and cannot be put on the Red Sox draft list unless the Sox want to select him in the free agent round; he will, of course, be available to any of the 12 franchises in that round. Hope this clarifies a bit.

Thanks Joeyc, Musial6 and Andycummings65 for joining us!

We're halfway there!

Just for some reminder and supplementary information, the free agent pool that the franchises can draw from for that one free agent is comprised of the following teams: Rays, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Marlins, Blue Jays, Angels and all NeL players.
