For the record if you waited to vote on the thread your vote might have had more influence. Given the quality of the managers that may have played into it. As well as the bottom four not knowing for sure if they were even entitled to vote until season finished up.

Excellent suggestion Franky. Like the time limit caveat. Number of rounds or days whichever comes first. I'm good with that.

I also like a Franky's suggestion of a limit in the time for the draft, but suggest a minimum be set for the number of rounds (say 6) even if that means a slightly longer draft. Only because if you we were to say that the draft finishes after an even number of rounds following day 10, combined with the fact we will not time each pick, then those who wanted an auto draft (like me) could just not pick and voila, you have a 2 round live draft and a 23 round auto draft.

I'm not at all worried about anyone intentionally delaying their pick to get a competitive advantage. I've played with everyone here in numerous leagues except pushpin and jomboy, and I really don't expect anything like that. I just think that people have busy lives outside of strat and will forget or be too busy to check the boards.

The final standings are almost complete. The only remaining game is Game 7 between TallEd and sphilipp. TallEd will finish with 386 or 391 but either way he finishes 8th in the rankings. If sphillip wins he'll finish 2nd. The only tie is jomboy and pushpin. Since pushpin won 2 championships and jomboy none, I think pushpin gets the higher draft position.

The start of the draft won't be official til hallerose announces the final rules. No matter what, I'm picking Yount.

I defer to the commissioner or the majority on the final rules. I'm fine with 10, 12 or 14 rounds, and just hope it doesn't take forever. Maybe after 7-10 days we can adjust if we need to shorten a little. Maybe someone can also volunteer to hold and execute proxies. Everyone in the draft just needs to make it a point to check these boards at least a couple times a day the next couple weeks.

I'm afraid I'll most likely be the biggest holdup at the draft. I have no internet access at work and my internet access at home has been very inconsistent, with AT&T being basically useless in helping fix it.
The other problem is that because of the magnitude of the league, I'm not sending out proxies or if I do, it will be a very short list. Normally I love live drafts, it's just not a very good time for me to be doing one.

We will start a separate thread with the "live" draft. Order with be based on final standings (1-12), with "snake" rounds (round 2 is 12-1). Just log on and post your pick in the thread when it is your turn to draft. After the 10? rounds, just fill out an autodraft card that includes your 10 picks (presumably at the bottom) and add any 15 players who were not drafted in the live draft (subject to the salary cap and roster restrictions).
