Nah, in the old times, we were playing along the advanced rules, but SOM added the super-advanced rules along the way and has increased over the years the realm of rules modified by these.

SOM has posted the super-advanced rules in the info/help section, but I prefer this link--all the super-advanced modifications are in the gray shadow

I should add that the online SOM doesn' t use the of grabbing a hr rule described in the booklet and uses a more sophisticated pitch-numbered fatigue system. Also, my reading of the closer rule doesn't match what I see on-line.

And sadly, one rule that disappeared is the brawl that could result from a hbp that followed a home run---or what is back-to-back homeruns?. Was so fun to see big Unit get kicked out early in a game!! We would often put hbp-machines after sluggers in the hope of forcing destiny. I guess this rule was victim of political correctness.

All good info thanks: and how nice a thread like the old days, no insults, retorts, etc.
