Top MVP candidates for 2015 NL

If anyone thinks there's anything funny about my awards list, please share. Otherwise, someone should go check on STEVE F, the poor man is apparently degrading into spontaneous laughter...

Scherzer and Trout will probably end up winning the awards. However, at this point, Miller and Cruz have done better:

Miller: 5-1, 1.33 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
Scherzer: 5-3, 1.67 ERA, 0.88 WHIP

Miller has been the best SP in the NL, so far, and a fantastic acquisition for Atlanta.

Cruz: .352/.410/.716, 17 HR, 34 Rbi, 29 R
Trout: .303/.398/.561, 11 HR, 23 Rbi, 34 R

Even with Trout's superior D, Nelson Cruz has been the league's MVP so far.


P.s. I called the Miller-Heyward trade as a good one for the Braves last November 17:

Well, (the Braves) obviously went in the "What can the Braves get for Heyward?" direction, and I think they got a good get for the soon-to-be-free agent. Shelby Miller had a little bit of a decline last year. However, it was hardly a sophomore slump, and he's still a 24-year old hard (94+) throwing SP who has already proven he can win and succeed at the major league level. Considering Heyward's hit tool never solidified as hoped, getting Miller and the talented hard-throwing prospect Jenkins in return is a nice deal for Atlanta.

Similar numbers but Scherzer has thrown 10 more (20%) more IP. On pace for 40 more over the season. Slightly better so far. And yes, far more likely to win the award end of season. Miller has been surprisingly great.

Most would take the combo of Trout's defense plus offense, but I'm not knocking Cruz' performance.
