Do you really think teenagers want to spend 20 bucks on a game they've never played, that has a steep learning curve, that has no bells or whistles, that can only be played on windows?
Sigh...more validation of my nerd status. I spent $7 on my first Strat set: 1973 Tigers, A's, Reds, Red Sox, Phillies.
Knew nothing but that it was a game I could replay MLB, no bells and whistles, and "windows" were what you opened to let air in during the summer. Oh, and $7 back then? $28 today!
But seriously, one thought that went through my mind is that the criticism of SOM reminded me a great deal of a criticism of MLB itself. I am not sure I even remember what year I last watched a MLB game, either on television or in real life.
