Finding that term offensive is laughable PC gone crazy. It's a term of endearment.

If you feel I have made any "troll" posts in the past, please share. Otherwise, thanks for the very entertaining ramble... ;)

Well said Valen. Anyone else find it ironic that the English teacher is the only one struggling to comprehend what he is reading? :?

P.S. What's up with your team in the Bab5 League. Gonna put up a fight?

As I say in spades when I get my first hand nil set you can't make a miraculous comeback if you do not first fall way behind. :D

Well, I am in first in my other league. Started off well in the Bab5 but then started sliding. Could see several players who were hurting me but they are players I am certain will rebound. Gave up on Choo because I thought his bad start was due to health issues. Someone snatched him up and it appears he is fully healthy after all. Not going to complain there though because he is helping my Rangers turn season around. :D

You guys from the boards in that bab5 league though are tough. Everyone is engaged and almost no good player slips through. I use a different strategy every year. This year was going strong on starting pitching. Was thrilled with team when season started. I was certain I would dominate the pitching stats and maybe even have a spare or two to trade. Then real life MLB got in the way of my fantasy.

Shields has been decent. K/9 is up as I expected moving to NL. But thought the ERA would benefit more from the park he is now in. Kluber until recently was not cy young material. Strasburg? I don't want to talk about Strasburg. Season ranking 1221. He is killing me but unless I find he is not healthy just too much potential to cut. \

I was counting on a great season from Holland in fantasy and real life. That shoulder though... I have stashed him on my DL list but do not expect him back this season if at all. Or at least not the same Holland I once thought would develop in to one of the top leftys in the game.

Hopefully I bottomed out at 7th place. Have had a good week and climbed back to 5th. Hopefully this is the beginning of that miracle comeback. Kluber, Price, and Carrasco have looked good recently. If Strasburg can just be decent and Josh will hit me 30 HRs I might pull this off. Reds need to get their act together too. No saves from Chapman in 2 weeks is unacceptable.

I'm an old fart at 57 fortunate to have retired at 55. The last woman under 45 that I asked out, told me her mom would really like me!
i'm just not looking forward to becoming a "wet old fart"!

Several year ago I started a yahoo league only inviting people from these boards. There have been a couple years we posted for additional members due to someone not renewing. As active as you are on the boards I am surprised you never noticed any of the invitations. But for the most part same people every year. This year everyone except one renewed so with 10 teams we decided not to recruit more. I do not remember what year was the first.

The league is not your typical fantasy baseball league. In addition to being made up of all strat vets and baseball experts it is a 15 x 15 league. We have 15 offensive and fielding stat categories and 15 pitching stat categories. That is the max allowed by yahoo. I think we might use more if they allowed it. The goal with all the stats is to more closely get our results to reflect true player value. So for example we have the stat category for sacrifices. In addition to saves for relievers we use holds so setup men are useful and appearances. To get more than just starters with strikeout value we also use double plays induced and quality starts. We have several fielding related categories including putouts, assists, double plays turned. Not saying we have it perfect but we strive with our choices to have all facets of the game be of value.

To help go past just knowing who the typical fantasy superstar we also have deep rosters. Each team has 30 players plus the max 5 DL and 5 NA slots. We have 2 catcher slots so 2/3 of MLB's starting catchers will find a place on someone's roster. We also have a couple generic slots like middle infielder, corner infielder and one genearl OF slot to go with LF, CF, RF. Idea being you have to have a full roster and not just draft 3 CFers but that 4th OF slot gives you flexibility to go with any OFer. And of course we have the Util slot so you can draft a DH like Ortiz if you want or can use it to stash an extra position player. And a couple bench slots. I sort of wish yahoo would allow more roster slots. I would like to add the broad position of IF and another general OF slot. Would also like to add a couple pitcher slots and a few more bench slots. But as is we use roughly the top 300 players in baseball which is roughly half of available players. So to be successful you not only have to know Trout is a big producer and who the allstars are but you have to know at least a little about the good players on every team.

I also have a second one that is very close to this one with some minor differences called gallactic baseball. I throw it open each year to everyone on yahoo. It varies quite a bit. Only had 4 team last year with 2 that were inactive. But have 8 this year and all seem to be active.

If you have never tried a 15x15 league you should check one out next year. If anyone is interested in joining one of my existing leagues ping me next January when it is time to renew the leagues and I will send you an invitation. Just send me your email address in a private message.
