And here is another idea that I think needs to be made mandatory. The designated players from each team MUST be each teams first draft picks. If we don't do this, then everybody needs to be double checking the entire player list as they put their team together, and even so there will be designated players selected in the auto draft by the wrong teams. It seems to me it will be a cluster, and very tedious to develop a draft list if we don't just all draft the designated players out of the box.

That wouldn't make any sense. Keeping track of the players available and drafting accordingly is part of the challenge of any keeper league like this with a remaining player pool. As long as every manager actually drafts their assigned players, we should be fine. If a manager makes a mistake and drafts another manager's player, he will already have to pay a price for that by having drafted a player he will have to cut.

Also, having all people pick their mandatory picks last (if they choose) will prevent a rogue manager from picking his last while everyone else picks their mandatory picks first. Those are rare occasions, but they do happen at times.

However, I definitely agree we can't change the player lists at this point, after so many people have chosen.

Just expect all of your designated players to be auto-drafted by other teams. Since they are your property it makes sense to pick them last as a strategy but with a 24 team draft it is likely that no one will get any of their designated players in the auto draft. These are higher priced players so as we all try and pick up other top players with our top picks, many of us will be given someones designated player by the auto draft.
If we forced everyone to place their players first we would get our players and you would know immediately after the draft if someone sandbagged by picking them last and you could announce penalties beforehand. Like forcing them to waive their two highest paid free agents??? Just a suggestion

You're worrying about a problem that wouldn't exist and ignoring a problem that would. I will explain succinctly:

1. As long as managers with rights to players draft those players, none of them will be awarded to other teams as you suggested. So, it's still fine for players to draft those players last.

2. That wifi prevent the sandbagging that could happen if managers had to draft their players first. Not only could this sandbagging go unnoticed, it would not just be rectified by your suggested penalties

3. So, it is clear, the best plan is our host's original plan for managers to draft their assigned players last.

Ok, I guess I forgot that the auto draft will not assign someone in the 8th round if they appear on someone else's draft card 25th?

Its been a while since I read that rule. First rule in auto draft is if only one team drafts a player he goes to that team no matter where you list him. So if u dont get your 7 players you did not list them.

For the record I will be happy to take another team if someone wants the Mariners. I'm convinced every team will be competitive. The lower salaried teams will be able to pick up a good group of mid range salaried players and be well balanced..I saw an earlier post that someone was interested in Mariners but they never took them.

I will take the last team available if nec. But for now I already have a Mariner core team to enter. Took about 20 minutes Lets just roll
