Maddon is batting Castro 4th partially to let him know that he expects more of him. Castro is stronger now then in past seasons and could easily top 14 HRs. Sure Maddon would like to have a true power hitter 4th but without one he is letting Castro know he expects more of him..... Listen up Strether, I am right and you are wrong, buddy!
And I know I am right and you are wrong because I am a better manager and people person than you! ....However, I will admit that your knowledge of baseball just might best my knowledge of the game. And we will both have to live with that!

Ease up on the histrionics and silly faces, Brown. Nothing you said countered any of my post at all, which was correct. So, I was right and you are wrong, buddy. The fact you can't actually counter what I said and resorted to such histrionics helps prove that. And you have no idea what is going on in Maddon's head. So, until you can show a quote saying he put him in cleanup to "let him know what he expected of him," it's highly unlikely he did so. As I said, he far more likely put him in because he was his best option at cleanup. And as I said, past history shows it is not likely Castro will ever hit many more home runs than he has before.
P.s. If you want to consider yourself a better manager than me, fine. Firstly, it is irrelevant to our discussion. Secondly, you and I have only played in three leagues together, and you did so with help from a ratings guide and I did so without using one. So, such a comparison would be both premature and inapt.
]What was started as a thread about Castro has been hijacked by you with now over half the thread taken up by your attacks against almost everyone who has posted here. And this pattern has happens on practically every thread that anyone starts here.
I didn't hijack the post in any way in that exchange, and the quotes
you provide prove it. Radagast made a snide post to me, and I made a polite post back..
while talking about Castro. Making an aside about ratings guides while doing so, isn't hijacking. We
are allowed to refer to other topics. So, that was no "hijack."
I also didn't "attack" a single poster on this thread, although I was trolled by STEVEF and Rober LaTorre. If you think I attacked anyone, again, show me where and on what post. Your making such unfounded accusations is beneath a veteran of your experience.
I do not want to get in to a quoting contest here. All I am saying/asking is quit hijacking every thread with petty arguments dragging up nonsense from completely different threads from who knows how far back in the past. Is that really so much to ask?
If you didn't want any quoting,
you should have not quoted me, yourself. It's pretty hypocritical for you to complain about quoting from the past when you do so yourself. It's also pretty lame. Also, I didn't drag up anything from the past, although you just did so above when you erroneously criticized me for hijacking past posts. That was your second unfounded hypocrisy.
For everyone else. Can we please at least here return to the topic of Castro and Cubs lineup and the very good information on this topic several of you were providing. It was interesting and informative in the first 3 pages before it got hijacked and derailed.
I asked everybody to do that long ago. I even asked you to do so, and
you didn't follow your own advice You also seem to forget that Knerrpool was the one who, perfectly reasonably, asked me to elaborate on my aside about ratings guides. I answered that one question, and nobody else wanted to let it go. The fact you blame that on me, shows you have a bias against me you admit to in this very post. I suggest
you let go of the past and move on, Valen.
Now, back to Castro...
