My nephew just told me Hamilton will be out 3 to 4 weeks with a hamstring. That really ramps up the odds of
Gallo being around for a while. Even after Beltre returns they may keep him around to play some left field. for a couple more weeks while waiting on Hamilton to return. If he has a strong month it will be hard to send him down in spite of that being the plan all along.

Does not hurt I have him on both my fantasy teams and a few games in LF makes him two position eligible.

However it goes got a feeling it will be a fun ride.

Someone offered me Joey Gallo for Jose Fernandez in a non keeper fantasy league, I turned it down. Maybe I messed up?

yeah I have Gallo as well & wouldn't mind seeing a passable LF rating to go with that 3B but that might be asking too much. I'll just be happy with the HR's, walks & K's.

Rangers were consistently saying Gallo would not be seen until 2016 until the Beltre injury. Though I am certain he would have been a September callup. Fernandez figured to be a midseason return. So that might tip the scales toward keeping Fernandez. However, since many pitchers return after a year but take an additional 6 months or so for full velocity and effectiveness to return I would have gambled Gallo would force his way to Arlington instead of that Fernandez would return in full form this season.

If that was a yahoo league where you could have just slotted Gallo at the NA position then you should have jumped on that trade offer before the guy changed his mind. Have some fun with him and offer Fernandez for Gallo now.
