Some of my online buddies heard the tale of my childhood dream to be MLBs first switch pitcher (1970s). I had the ability to throw a baseball both right handed and left handed with fairly equal ability. I could throw left-handed harder, but I was more accurate right handed. Unfortunately, it was just a childhood thing. Reality hit me later! However, at one time I could throw a baseball around 70 MPH Lefty and around 65MPH Righty in high school. That's the best I would ever do. Oh yeah, and another thing, I was never actually a pitcher. I played 2B. For some reason, my coach wanted me to be able to throw strikes from time to time.
At any rate, I've been following Venditte for a long time hoping he would get a Major League shot and he could live my childhood dream. He pitched great the other night. I'm hoping he gets enough innings to earn himself a Strato Card. He would have the first Strato card to ever say........THROWS: BOTH..... or will say THROWS: SWITCH. Either way, it's great to see.
