New 1990 Keepers League.

It has been slow going. Building a great team/league always is. We just need 5 more for this "ground breaking" league to get it started. We a great group of owners so far.

FYI;
This would be a 1990’s $80M keeper’s league. Starts with 4 serpentine rounds where you will draft 3 players and a Park (Park may only be used by one player in the league).
Each team will be able to protect 0-6 players with a value no greater than $25M for each season after the first. One additional player will be added after the keepers have been named. Selection will be in reverse order of the standings.
Division will be assigned randomly.
If you have some ideas to keep thing completive please share. Thanks.

A mistake I made when I launched the 70s Keeper League long ago was having a 4-round serpentine draft which included a stadium. This is an unfair advantage for the people drafting early. Instead, I urge you instead to have a 5-round draft, which includes a stadium. I did this when I launched my 90s Keeper League, having learned my lesson with the 70s. I also had the 5th round go in reverse order, but that is a minor detail.

I wouldn't mind a 5 round draft with stadium, perhaps we make round 1 be for stadium selection and then a separate randomizer to determine player draft in rounds 2-5. This way you know what stadium you have as you fill out your roster. Food for thought...

5 rounds sounds good. Designating which round parks are chosen sounds like it would limit some draft strategy. Letting the owner decide how important a stadium adds another decision to the draft I think.

Did you do a straight 5 or a serpentine 5?

I would disagree with that statement but am open to whatever.

Definitely serpentine. (Although in round 5 I went straight reverse; my thinking was even with the serpentine, it was still a slight advantage to get that early pick in the first round.)

Thus:

Round 1: 1-12
Round 2: 12-1
Round 3: 1-12
Round 4: 12-1
Round 5: 12-1

Whether you reverse round 5 isn't that important. However, having the extra round is (IMHO)! Otherwise manager 1 would get these player picks: 1, 24, and 25 compared to manager 12 getting player picks: 12, 13, 36. Not exactly fair. Manager 12 getting what is essentially first pick of stadiums doesn't make up for this (again IMHO). Almost all managers will (and should) pick a stadium in the last round.
