I agree, and I don't understand why they just don't do a 20xx Mystery League Set, for which many players have been asking for years. They haven't had a new Mystery League in years--I'm kind of bored with the present ones--and the Mystery League format would easily enable the use of many seasons per card, which their ATG-20xx mishap has failed to do. It would also appeal to the younger present and potential players, as opposed to, say, a 50's set. I don't know most of those players; I can't imagine how a player under 40 would relate to it.

Has anyone specifically sent an email request for the type mystery set your are suggesting? John Garcia has stated many times in his blog posts that they are willing to create specific sets if asked. If it's just people wishing for it on the message boards it likely won't happen. We all know how little Strat participates in these forums.

I would not want to be in a league with this set.

If the league agreed on a way to weed out the duplicates post auto draft that still does not address the fact I could draft some guy who is not duplicated, miss, get a duplicated card but my duplicate is declared invalid. So effectively I received no compensation for the player I missed.

John Garcia stated flat out that both in his blog and to geekor, who requested the set, that they would not be addressing it at all as it would require them to go back and recode to at least two entire sets. He suggested it be policed by the league users themselves much as we did in geekor' franchise league that was the gensis of the set.

I have no idea. I have seen, however, discussion about it, as well as debate over whether a 50's set or 20xx set would be better. It would, though, be unfortunate if SOM was either dependent on e-mails for inspiration for a new product or would be willing to make a product based on a few e-mails. The 20xx Mystery League set is the next logical Mystery League, particularly since the 90's set came out years ago. I would hope they wouldn't need a flood of e-mails to produce a new product that would please current Mystery League players, entice non-Mystery League players, and appeal to a present and possible future younger fanbase.

I don't play mystery, tried it once hated it, so I'm unfamiliar with the sets. But if the cards already exist for what you are asking for shoot them an emAil you might be surprised at the results. That's all it took for this 2007-2014 set to be created. Well I think maybe geekor got at least 12 of us to commit to a league first. But that's all it took.

Now if it's something that will require a whole lot of coding and not simply just combining existing sets then maybe it isn't that simple. But again send Garcia the email if it's of interest God knows you like to type ;-), he should be able to tell you if it's possible.

Best bet might be to ask for a 09-14 subset, that would kill of the vast majority of the card issues (though there would still be a couple of them).

Nobody likes to type more than you, Niners. That's why you came on a MLB draft thread you said you didn't care about and then wouldn't shut up... ;)

But I might just send that e-mail.

It would probably be too hard to make a mystery subset, as it uses the ATG game for all subsets. That game doesn't have the mystery engine built into it.

They would first have to add in the subset methodology into one of the mystery games first.

If that was the case they should add in the 2000 Mystery game (they already have all the cards here) with the subset methodology from the get-go, then that could be done.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you, I was trying to help with problem/issue you brought up. You don't wNt to use my suggestion no problem, as I said it's not a set I'd ever use anyway.

You started the pissing contest with your snide "you like to type" comment, so don't play innocent, Niners. Now, let's move on.
