2007-2014....the potential

PostSun Jun 14, 2015 9:38 pm

With this great set you can draft so many different styles of teams...almost whatever you want. This new set looks amazing!

An all 1 defensive team? No problem

All Dominican? No problem

All Canadian ? No problem (well maybe)

All 1-17 runners? No problem (not catcher of course)

All switch hitters ? No problem

Almost all the franchises are competitive in lower payroll leagues.

So why are these leagues not flying off the shelf? Does this set need to be posted in player set browser or does strat need to post a new advert with its new Logo that was supposed to be big news?

I'd like to see it in the player set browser.

Many players, including myself, have never played ATG and have no interest in doing so. Yes, the 2007-2014 element is very enticing, but I'll wait for a similar non-ATG set or the 20xx Mystery League set I imagine will be coming fairly soon.

They may not be pushing it too hard because of the already mentioned (check other threads) problems with the same player being seen as two different ayrs by the draft engine. Strat has already said it's not an issue they are willing to correct either. So they may actually not want it to take off for fear of to many complaints about the card issues.

Not sure if strat is dying....slowly. This set would have blown the doors off years ago. A lot of customers have no interest in the Atg sets as previously mentioned. I play Atg for theme and franchise leagues but love 20xx leagues the most. I love 24 team leagues as well for many reasons. This new set appears to blend the 20xx for the Atg crowd. I am not a fan of the mystery sets.

Tired of seeing empty, non-filling leagues sit for weeks. For the modern baseball fan this set is great. For those of us who have played all of these seasons of 07-14 this set would seem to be filled with all of our favourite cards and stadiums

I have no idea if Strat is "dying slowly," but I don't think the apprehension to embrace this new set is proof of it. And while the new set may "appear" to blend the 20xx for the Atg crowd, it is still an Atg set. So, in the same way you wouldn't play a mystery set, those of us who aren't fans of the Atg set have no interest in this new Atg set, even if it involves 20xx

I would give the league a little bit more time before giving up on it, though. And I would spend more time addressing the Atg players, as it is one of their sets, and they would be the ones most likely to play it.

Also, another FYI, leagues with this subset aren't drafting automatically. So far SOM has had to push the draft to run each time. That plus the card issues.

It's fine, we can work around it, but make sure you are aware it isn't perfect.

I absolutely love the new set, even with the problems!

I am ready to do battle. My greatest rival is me, and yet I still (usually) find a way to win . It must be the performance enhancing drugs I take (for general managers), if you live in Colorado you probably know what I mean. :D
