Complete game shutout to begin career

For the record, Fernando completed his first 8 starts, 5 of them shutouts.

You know over time I forgot just how good he was.

I think possibly a reason for limiting to DH era is the perception that pitching is harder when having to face a DH.
So prior to the introduction of the DH a pitcher may have thrown x number of shutouts but because he got to face a pitcher at least 3 times the accomplishment gets diminished. In other words only since introduction of the DH has pitching become difficult.

I see a certain person has already tried to hijack things and show how much smarter they are than the rest of us.
If this person really wants to show how much smarter they are how about doing so by answering the initial question posed at the beginning of this thread?

Who has recorded their first 2 complete games in the fewest games to start a career? And within the context of that who had done so in the fewest games during the DH era? Let's lay aside the silly debate about when that started. I think it is safe to say it started when the DH was introduced as a rule.

There was no debate about when the era started, only a debate over whether the era applied to NL teams as well...and it did. It is interesting, though, how Valen tells others to lay aside a debate on an issue, then proceeds to proffer his view as the final word on the matter...

Anyway, as I said before, it is safe to say it started once the first DH played:

Referring to the DH era is just that: referring to the era after the DH was first implemented. It in no way restricts teams in that era to AL ones. And they trace it back to 1973 because that was the advent of that era, once Blomberg "played" the position.

So, he and I are not in major disagreement.

The forgotten Bill Parsons of the MIlwaukee Brewers, 1971, began his career with two consecutive CGs, and 5 of his first 9 were CGs including 2 shutouts.
