Actually, it's not...not in any way. However, if you can show how it does apply to my last post, please do so. If not, you're just trolling, which you are.

appropriate for comment above

+1 I totally got the same vibe.

In other words, "thanks for sharing how Kershaw did for you in GAB but your contribution to the thread is not worthy".

I'll make it easy for you, NChavez. Here is my last post:
l.strether wrote:That's solid production, and I wouldn't complain either if I were you. What your satisfaction points out, though, is really the actual topic of this discussion, rather than Kershaw. What we have all been discussing and/or debating is not just whether Kershaw is worth the money, but what exactly we expect to get for 9m.

And since all value is structural in SOM-online, the discernment of that is dependent on what we expect to get for 8m, and 7m, and 6m...and so on. I can't remember when we actually had a solid discussion thread on what we expect to get for each degree of money spent, as well as how we determine those expectations. So, it would be cool if someone who has actually spent some time thinking on the matter started such a thread. While I'm sure there will be many commonalities, I'm sure there will be some interesting differences as well...in values and methods.

It in no way reflects your cute little comic strip, or shows any rudeness to Gilbo in any way. So, you were just trolling. If you want to be productive in the future, I suggest you contribute to the thread topic(s) instead of stirring conflict.

UPDATE: See my July 25 post for his final numbers.

So far for me after 75 games Kershaw is

IP 130
ERA 2.62
W-L 11-3
HR 9
WHIP 0.95

I have excellent defense and I am in Marlins Parks, so that is in his favor. However, there are two Coors Fields in my division as well.

I am very pleased with his performance. To expect him to have anywhere near a 1.77 ERA in an $80 million league is unrealistic. Also, to expect 21-3 rate is also unrealistic since every team is theoretically equal. (Obviously this isn't the case, but it's a lot closer than the haves and have nots of the real baseball world.)

Actually, I'm sure his results are totally lucky and he isn't worth $9 million. So, nobody draft him--at least don't if you are in a league with me!

I found the Dilbert comic hilarious.

However I think Stretchers point is valid. I think original poster does want to know if hes worth the big bucks. So far its obvious that you are taking a bath on him but at what point would he be a bargain at 9 million ?

Thanks, Tony. I actually liked the comic, as well, despite it having no correlation to my post. And what exactly constitutes a bargain, a good deal, and a bad deal is a part of the discussion for this thread, and would be an excellent topic for a brand new one.

The comic is classic and fits perfectly.

None of your comments are applicable to this topic, the topic was "Has anyone had really great luck with Kershaw?", not about what you expect to get for $9 M or whatever. Again l.douchy, you have decided to turn this into a thread for your liking.

As far as Kershaw, what do you expect from a LH pitcher? Would love to see what hitters hit off their own card vs Kershaw vs his own card, how many BP HR were hit off hitters card vs Kershaw's? I have no scientific proof on this, but I would suspect the greater the BP HRs ranges are, the worse a LH pitcher will do versus a RH SP. There are a lot more hitters vs LH pitchers that you can find cheaply every year with a lot of HR's (see Zach Walters for example for 2014). IMO, LH starting pitchers do not live up to their values as much as RH's do for the same money.

In the NL only player league with unique stadiums, I thought he would dominate and that $9 mil would be well worth it. If he goes on a roll and helps keep the team in 1st place I will be happy. Maybe my expectations were set to high. SGT D

I've always been a sucker for $60 million leagues because the results are more realistic, and the (few) stars you do have--like a Kershaw--can really dominate.
