Jimmy needs to repick

A dilemma: I just did the calculations and found that, with the selection of Kaat, my 60s team will end up $240,000 over the salary cap when drafting a 25-man roster. I'll be okay once I drop to 24. However, it occurred to me that I might be getting an unfair advantage by, in effect, reserving players that exceed the salary cap, albeit minimally.

Anyway, if anybody holds this view, I will throw Kaat 60s back into the pool and draft somebody who will keep me under the salary cap.

Please speak up with your views. I won't be super-sore if anybody objects.

I think we have to go to the rules. I was also wondering if going over the cap was okay. The rules state:

"There will be no rules as to who and when you draft your players from each season as long as you draft the appropriate number of players at the end of the draft and stay within the salary cap."

So I believe you must stay within the salary cap. Voovits would have the final say in this so you may want to wait for him.

With Supersore's question and Jimmy C's skipped pick, I will hold up on my pick till we get some clarity. i was working under the assumption that we had to be able to fit all of our picks on the draft card, so 25 players, but i made not be right and I would be interested in hearing the answer myself.

Reading further down in the rules, this is emphasized with the following:

"Keep in mind the 60 million cap floor. It is every owners responsibility to make sure you dont draft over 80 mil or under 60 mil."

Hard to imagine anybody having a problem with the 60M floor. We will need to be vigilant about the 80M ceiling as I proved a few minutes ago.

There are a number of teams pushing pretty close to the salary cap, some with around a $1 million left to spend per player and double digit players left to get.
