Zobrist makes for an ideal super sub in 100m leagues. :)

I think this is the heaviest platooning I have ever done. 8-)

And perhaps the most I have spent on pitching in a few seasons.

For your Figurin'

I will be using a straight 5 man rotation no one will get skipped because of an* starter. I didn't draft guys for the asterisk. In most cases they were fall back options to guys who were non asterisk pitchers.

In fact if someone is looking for * pitchers and want to swap his non* of similar value I'd be inclined to listen.

You're right about Zobrist, but I don't see that you're platooning that much. Just espinosa and Garcia right?

Welp...

Season 39 started just the way season 38 ended, with BigA handed me my ass. Again, thank you sir, may I have another?

What I thought would be a strength, my bullpen, blew two games for me. The first one, with Benoit giving up 2 HRs in the top of the 9th to let BigA tie me, and then I think I lost in 10... The 3rd game, and 2nd of my bullpen's meltdowns, came with what I thought was gonna be a decent middle man, in Lobstien getting lit as soon as he toed the rubber.

Here's to many more ass whippings for me by BigA!

Cheers!

Well, Niners did a job on me tonight MG so I feel your pain. :( Just crushed every pitcher I threw at him in the first two and then got Wada facing 9 RHB to pitch a gem. Go figure.

Raw stats on where the salaries went:

Code: Select all
.......   Linup   Pit.   Bch   SPs..   RPs..   Tot
Dale...   57.9   37.2   4.9   23.61   13.56   100.00
Spider.   57.2   36.5   6.3   22.20   14.26   99.95
Smokey…   56.0   38.8   4.9   23.85   14.92   99.64
niners.   55.5   37.6   6.3   20.26   17.33   99.38
Semper.   53.6   40.4   6.0   26.39   13.97   99.99
Stoney.   53.5   42.3   3.7   28.07   14.18   99.48
JTJ....   53.4   37.0   9.5   23.22   13.82   99.90
MG.....   52.4   41.7   4.6   25.32   16.34   98.70
GBrook.   52.0   36.5   11.4   28.82   7.71   99.92
Hawk...   49.9   40.5   9.6   26.55   13.91   99.89
AT.....   46.4   35.3   14.1   17.68   17.57   95.82
Big A..   44.6   45.4   9.7   24.66   20.72   99.74

Average   52.7   39.1   7.6   24.2   14.9   99.4

Three guys at 56 or more in line ups: Dale at the top with almost 58 with Spider close behind and Smoke a little back. OTOH, three guys under 50. Big A (no surprise) AT and Hawk. Remember this is just lineup v RHP so.... The average is 52.5.

As for Bench, AT and GB are both over 10 mil meaning they are covering for injuries (probably) or have great LH platoon players. I haven't looked to see which. Big A, Hawk and JTJ are all over 9.5. Four are under 5 mil with Stoney at the bottom by a mil.

Pitching in terms of dollars spent is Big A by almost 4 mil over MG. AT is 1.2 below Spider at the bottom.

GB and Stoney lead with > 28 mil SPs with AT 3 mil behind NP who is 2 mil behind Spider! SPs are a little deceiving because 4 man rotations have one less pitcher with usually a .50 holding down the 5 spot. Near as I can tell only JTJ and Big A have pure 4 mans. So you probably bump JTJ up to around MG and Big A to just behind Stoney.

RPs are topped by Big A who spent almost 21 mil on them! He's 3 mil more than AT who is second. GB doesn't need no stinkin pen with just over half the next lowest pen!

I think at the end of the season when people start revealing their value players Mr. Wada is going to be on many lists. I stumbled onto him in a theme league and have been pleasantly surprised by how well he's done. I think his 9L rating is a bit deceptive as he's not that bad vs RHP as you discovered last night. ;-)

Six games should be enough sample size. Let's just give me the crown and move on to the next draft? I suppose I'd be OK with playing a few more if you guys really want to... :D

Wada is NOT very good v RHB here are his slash numbers v RHB in Nationals:
.284 .242 .479

In other words, he's about as bad as David Huff v RHB (.341 .243 .358)and not much better than Holmberg (.280 .173 .425) Anyway it was only 5.1 IP so it's a SSS.
I suppose I'd be OK with playing a few more if you guys really want to..

Smokey, I think we'll take you up on that. ;) 8-)

Meanwhile tonight we played three wild ones with Petey Parker: Won 11-9, 11-6 and lost 11-0. Wainwright is just terrible. He's 0-3 with a 8.69 ERA and a 1.88 whip! How'd this guy get a salary number that high??? ;) I should have taken Wada in the third round instead. :P (Hopefully that'll change!)
