idea for future theme league

PostWed Jul 15, 2015 3:21 pm

I've got too much SOM going on to set up a a new theme league. But, I got a good idea for a fun theme. Baseball reference has a page for places of birth of baseball players. http://www.baseball-reference.com/bio/ The theme would be to draft US states and foreign countries to constitute your rosters. The baseball reference site can be sorted by rookie year so it's easy to see who would qualify for a given decade. California would need to be split up because so many of the 80s and 90s players were born in CA. The Dominican Republic is amazing.

Don't sign up! I just wanted to get this down so I could bring it up when I have more time.

I have thought along similar lines for a theme league, just wondered how to go about doing it. Not a bad idea.

I have thought about a theme league where managers pick a zodiac sign and get the players born during that sign. Never got around to sorting them, however. Maybe someday I'll get to manage the Kansas City Capricorns.

Paul is heard from, now that he's done voting for his Royals to start the all star game...

maybe that's the new theme league, the Royals play the Royals...
