If someone wins a squeaker series, than yeah, only gaining one point over that particular opponent is ample enough...and they would have an additional 10 pt leg up on all the non playoff teams. Same logic for winning the first round.

So you're final argument (well, actually your whole argument), boils down to you saying "no, you're wrong".

I don't know how a win equaling a point can be any more objective.

No, it isn't "ample enough." The player who won the title did much more than win one more game. He won the title as opposed to the player who didn't. That is significantly more of an achievement than winning another game and is worth significantly more than the value of one regular season win. So he deserves more than just that value.

No, my final argument and whole argument did an excellent job showing how your arguments were erroneous and mine were correct. The fact you can't counter any of them and only made that glib dismissal helps prove that. Thank you.

Then you don't understand objectivity. A win could be worth three points in a system; it could be worth 100 points in a system; it most certainly doesn't have to equal one point. And you also mistakenly assume a win for the regular season should equal a win in the playoff season when it definitely does not have to do so. So, no, a win equaling one point is certainly not objective.

Strether,

Do you plan to play the tour next year? Would you consider running it as the Commissioner?

If the tour commissioner is polite and gives potential players say in the tournament's policies, I will certainly play. I have no interest in being commissioner, and one need not have it to provide input for the tournament's rules.

My nomination for commissioner by the way would be MARCPELLETIER. He's smart, polite, and courteous; and he definitely knows SOM and baseball. He would do a fine job.

We need fillers for Event 4 - League 9 ($100 mil DH). Would you consider joining us? (Filler role only, no points assigned).

PS: I didn't mean to imply you need to want to be commissioner to have input. You have plenty of input already, even though you only played a few tour teams over the past 12 years. I just wanted to know if you would like to be next year's commissioner?

You didn't post something he could criticize....kinda like on Jeopardy how your answers have to be in the form of a question.

Try - "would you like to be commissioner so you can implement your opinions on the tourney, and make them the new rules."

Read much, Keyzick? If you did, you would have seen I had already answered him. He didn't see that either.

And I gave and defended my opinions just like you. So, your sad piety is truly hypocritical.

Well, being next year's Commissioner isn't really my job to assign out anyway. I just wanted to know if you were interested, and why or why not?

You claim you've been here from the beginning in '02. But you have only played I believe five tour teams in the last dozen years. That you don't like me as commissioner is understandable, but teepack and gbrookes too?? If you won't join the tour, if you don't like the commissioners, if you won't BE the commissioner, and if you won't help out with the occasional filler team, then what are you doing here?

1 win = 1 point gets like 50 paragraphs of frantic daily posting, but one small request to help the tour gets no response?

Strange.

And telling.
