People do do that without getting all worked up into vulgarity and all-caps, you know; It's called keeping your cool... ;)
And, as you saw, I didn't misread you. I was just correctly adding their being "additions" in a deal wouldn't make much difference to possible trade partners
And I disagree that Flores will bring back minimal return, he's only 23, still some upside there paired with something else, I think they can expect a better piece and it clears a log jam in the infield. Murphy? yes we know what he is and what he'll do he would not bring back much.

Now, you're misreading me. I never said Flores would bring back "minimal return." I correctly said he wouldn't bring much as a difference maker in a deal. Yes, he has value, but teams aren't going to trade a solid hitter with time on his contract because Flores is there. That's why they're asking for the significantly-more-talented Rosario.
As for Conforto, you are assuming he is ready to contribute at the major league level and team brass didn't think so as little as two weeks ago. The only thing that changed was Cuddyer's worsening condition which forced their hand. I beleive if they can find a full time bat for LF or even a platoon mate for Kelly Johnson ( who I realize doesn't really need one, but you know how managers are) then Mr Conforto head to either Vegas or back to Binghamton for more seasoning.
.
You're misreading me again...and yet I remain relaxed. See, it can be done... ;). I never assumed Conforto is ready to contribute. I said if the Mets think he is ready to contribute, then it would be better to acquire someone who wouldn't displace him. If he isn't ready to contribute, then, of course, there is no problem with sending him back down.

Guess the trade rumors aren't bothering Hamels.

And uh wow guess Johnson and Uribe's arrival lit a fire under some of the Mets regulars, at least for one night. Hope they save a little of hat for tomorrow against a MUCH tougher assignment.

It certainly doesn't look like it. I imagine the only person happier than him is Ruben Amaro, since the price for Hamels just went up by about 25-50%... ;)

And it was a big night for the Mets, particularly for Micheal Conforto. 4 for 4 with two doubles is a nice second game in the Majors. I'm sure both Alderson and Collins were very pleased.

Lots of rumor swirling around DFW metroplex. Not much agreement among medai on what should be done.
Not heard much about Leonys Martin. He has not developed offensively as hoped and is a LH bat on a LH dominated lineup. But one might think some team could use a guy who can be a difference maker on defense late in games and steal you a base when really needed. Still has a great arm and speed. Never know what a change of scenery might do to jump start him.

I would not expect much. But think he is worth a lower level prospects. Maybe someone for a low A team with potential upside. Maybe a RH pitcher who could develop in to a reliever in a couple years.

Cueto to the Royals, no details yet but rumors include young lefties Brandon Finnegan Sean Manaea and/or John Lamb.

Definitely a HUGE need filler for the Royals, tough to say yet how it shakes out for the Reds as we don't know their side of the deal.

Be interesting to see how the Twins and Tigers respond.

Dominos are falling.

Supposedly the trade has hit a hitch, and Price is denying it. However, if it does go through as reported, I would rate it as such:

For the Royals, it's a huge addition to a successful team with WS potential but problems in its rotation. While off-season acquisition Edinson Volquez has been solid, last year's plus starter Danny Duffy has struggled, and Jeremy Guthrie and last year's excellent rookie Yordano Ventura have struggled mightily...with Ventura being demoted. The Royals are giving up substantial talent for a player they most likely won't re-sign, but they don't have perennial opportunities to win the Title; so, they need to jump on the ones they get. If Manaea, who also throws hard (with average command), is also included, I would still applaud the move, but say they gave up a bit much.

As to the Reds, they, too would have been unlikely to sign Cueto, considering his probable demands and recent health issues. So, Finnegan and Lamb give them much-needed left-handed pitching, considering their now top three starters--Lorenzen, Leake, and DeSclafani--and top pitching prospect--Robert Stephenson--are all right handed. Finnegan is clearly the jewel of the deal. Smallish but hard-throwing, he was the Royals' 1st-round pick last year, making the majors that same season, and has both solid #3 starter and closer/quality set-up material. Lamb is a bit of a wild-card. 5 years ago, he was one of their top prospects as a hard-throwing lefty with dazzling stuff. But he blew out his elbow in 2011, and his slow recovery lowered him to "suspect." However, he has come back nicely this year, dominating at AAA Omaha and could be a solid back-end starter for the Reds.

This of course is all up for amendment if the reported package changes or the trade is annulled... ;)

I'm a big fan of Cueto - despite occasional injury flare-ups, the guy can dominate a game like very few others.

However, if the Reds are able to get Brandon Finnegan as part of the deal, my hat's off to the Reds. Finnegan looks like a solid # 3 starter.
