ATG 8 Player Addition #3 Nomination Thread

totally down w/ M. Alou '66 one of my favorite cards ever... (and that was my first (one-sided basic) set)


Mateo was my alter-ego in my early teen days... I happen to be a lefty who is not blessed w/ Gehrig or Ruth size and power, but could play the of pretty well and bunt a bit.

would for sure do the Alou outfield thing (Matty, Felipe, Moises, w/ Jesus on the bench) at least once

This will be used in the 3rd player addition poll to ATG 8.

RULES

Only one nomination per user, please specify player and season. If two people select the same player but different seasons, only the first season will be used.

Only players who are not currently in the ATG set will be accepted!!

Any players listed after the first 40 (or duplicate players with different seasons) will not be used in the poll

Remember only the top 20 of the 40 nominations used will be added to ATG 8

I'm sure it's too late to nominate, but how about 2003 Javy Lopez (Braves catcher, not Giants RP)?

Hit .328/.378/.687 with 43 HRs in 457 ABs.

In a franchise league as the Braves. The catcher options are horrific and Lopez had an all-time season yet isn't represented.

He'll be added to the 2016 game. I wish we had a Hall of Fame-like moratorium of five years before adding a card to ATG.

I would go further and make it 10 years. Or maybe 5 years after they officially retire before their cards could be added to ATG.

With Harper and Trout who knows, to have their career year in the ATG set might have to add a new card every season.

It goes by seasons though not careers. That was clearly one of the ATG seasons.

Not saying it wasn't a great season. I just would rather add cards from back in the day instead of one that can be played next season in 2015 game.
