We seem to be having a hard time filling this last spot, so once again if you know anyone in your other leagues who might be interested please give them a shout.

I think it might be best to table the idea of picking draft order until maybe another season, we can always revisit that idea later. When the league finally fills I think people would be anxious to get started.

Also....NYMETS99 has sent me his first pick by proxy....surprise, surprise he is taking the Giants !

I appreciate the opportunity to join this league, seems like it should be pretty interesting. I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask:

How many seasons do you guys plan on playing this format?

I noticed while skimming through some threads that there was a proposal made to allow teams holding a lesser valued card to pick up players not selected by the team initially holding the rights/highest salary during the auto draft phase. Unfortunately I haven't had to time to read through the threads to see how this was eventually resolved. Was this approved?

We have no time limit on how long we will run this format, as long as there is interest we will do it. Seems like each season one or 2 players drop out and one or two join.

Secondly ; if a player has cards with 2 teams , the team who has the higher salaried card has his rights; however if by the first game and anytime thereafter if that player is not on a roster, the team which has the lesser salaried card may pick him up and use either of the 2 cards. A perfect example of this is Keith Hernandez. He is rarely picked by Cardinals because they have McGwire and Puljos. So the Mets can take Hernandez once the season starts and use either of his cards.

This is an interesting twist to the usual ownership rights to a player. Typically it seems that in most leagues that grant initial ownership to the franchise with the highest salaried card if that team does not protect that player through the auto draft process the other team/teams with a card are free to select that player anytime from post draft on. Having to wait until the season starts and having to incur the drop/add penalty adds another level of complexity to the process.

That's why if you have your sights on a player it's always good to have free cash and scoop him after the first game is played.

Secondly ; if another manager tells you he is definetly not going to use a player , you may pick him up in preseason, sort of a gentlemans agreement.

If you still need a 12th, count me in!

One question - is there a stadium restriction, such as using a stadium of one of your two teams? Is there another thread with the detailed rules?
