OK, now for the hard part of the question. The six players, plus Darryl Strawberry, essentially cover 7 of the 8 fielding positions. (Encarnacion was primarily a DH when he hit 40, but he did play some 3B in the field.)

The missing position is 2B. What second baseman with at least 10 letters in his last name hit the most HR in a single season in which he played primarily at 2B? How many did he hit?

Good answer.

If not him, how about Grabarkewitz?

Schoendienst is correct, he hit 15 twice ('53 and '57 I believe). Grabarkewitz hit 17, but in a season where he played only 20 of his 150+ games at 2nd.

Grudzielanek hit double digits a couple of times. Pretty much the only other 2B of note with a name that long was Tony Cuccinello, and he is much better known (to me, anyway) as a long-time coach.

Pretty amazing that all 7 of the other positions have a guy with 39 or more, and 2B has ONLY 15.

Yes, but then it wouldn't have been much of a question. But this is a crowd that looks at baseball trivia the same way my dogs look at a hot dog being held by a 4 year old.
