Staying on topic with Triple Crown winners...

Since 1900, what are the most wins by a pitcher in their Triple Crown season?

Lefty Grove with 31 in 1931. That would be hard to top.

Call me Captain Obvious again. I'll go with Walter Johnson, since he's 2nd all time in wins and was the career leader in K's until at least the 60's.

I'll go with Capt. Obvious. Johnson won 36 games in 1913 and I'm pretty sure he led the league in ERA and Ks as well.

Lefty Grove did win 31 in '31 and was the Triple Crown winner. Walter Johnson did win 36 in 1913 and was the Triple Crown winner.

There was one pitcher that beat both of them with 37 wins in his Triple Crown season.

Christy Mathewson in 1908, which coincidentally was the last year the Chicago Cubs won the World Series.
