We're getting closer to the player draft.

I know it's a challenge for you to get through the full thread on the ATG board, but I encourage you to do so. If you can't, however, read the first page and the last 3 pages. I'll try to include some (hopefully) "plain English" concise explanations about what comes next, on the last 3 pages, as well as bumping some of the key posts along the way.

^^^2 of the "available" franchises will be the "pure free agent" pool for the 5 round player draft. (You can also pick players who have at least one card for your franchise - see the list of multi-carded players in the ATG thread, next to last page).

There's really nice pitchers and hitters on all 5 of the above franchises, 2 of whom will be available in the 5 round draft.

And the player draft order is in reverse order to the franchise draft. davesodu picks first in the first round of the player draft, and so on, in reverse order. The order switches in each round of the player draft (i.e. serpentine).

yep....kind wishing I had gotten the 15 or 16th spot in the draft to take better advantage of round 1 of the player draft. oh well.... gonna be fun. let's see who Foggy picks

Clarification needed. If a player on the unpicked franchises is multi-carded wouldn't that other franchise have rights to them for the 5 round draft and the top portion of their autopicks? For example if the White Sox aren't picked then wouldn't Oscar Gamble become a Padre...unless he goes unpicked/claimed by them through the draft/auto picks?

that was already discussed in the other thread. The answer is NO. In your example, ANYONE can draft Gamble as a non-picked White Sox guy and use any of his cards. He would then count as one of their core guys. It is in the ATG forum thread, although that's a lot of pages to read through. The example given was by CTStough I believe and his example was an undrafted Padres franchise and Nettles....but the point is the same.


although I will say, with the franchises left, and the fact that they have some A's (my team) in them as multi-carded players, I like your option

but some guys may have selected their franchises with that rule in mind....so......

hmmm. Ok so if a guy is multi-carded AND both his franchises are selected for the league then only those franchises can draft him in the 5 round and top auto draft rankings. He becomes a FA after that...

BUT if a guy is multi-carded and only one franchise is selected for the league then he becomes a free agent immediately

Is that how we are playing it?
