Michael Morse - 4 Home Runs in a Game!

I've been playing 3+ seasons a year since 2003 and I don't think I've ever seen four home runs by a single player in a game before either for my team or against me. And of course HAL didn't put it in the game summary headline.

Morse did ground out in the middle of the game, so the home runs weren't consecutive:

I had a 4 HR game out of Stanton, only time I have ever had a 4 HR game too---this was back when the headlines were down due to some glitch.

Love that Stanton four HR performance: Four solo shots leading to a 4-3 win! Not too much question who gets the "Player of the Game" award in that one.

HAL did at least create a headline ("Giancarlo Stanton blasts 4 HRs in 4-3 victory over Earth" - makes him sound like a space alien), but no game description.

I think the old steroid era card sets might have provided some 4 homer games. Stanton makes a lot of sense for today's relatively post-steroidal era.

He is far from the most prolific home run hitter in the 2014 card set. Without the four home run game, Morse would only be tied for fifth on the TEAM in home runs, behind Posey, McCutchen, Peralta, and Pierce. And that's 7/9ths of the way through the season. (With the four home runs, he leaps ahead of Peralta and Pierce and is tied with McCutchen with 24, on pace for 31.)

It's just to bad we can't see the game play by play or boxscore of this game... he finished the year with 75 HRS and 170 RBI!!!

That Morse game was against my team. Check out Randy Choate's line in that game. Pretty funny...
