etiquette question

PostSat Sep 12, 2015 8:16 am

I just did my first live draft team, with a 999 million cap, so I essentially have a bottomless pit of money. One of the players I got was Randy Johnson, who has 2 nice cards at 9.26. As you probably know, one dominates lefties, while the other is more balanced. If I wanted to, I could jump back and forth between those cards depending on if I am in a hard left park or not (there is at least one in my league already).

What is the etiquette on using different years of the same player in a league like this? I dont want to be the jacka$$ in the group.

In that kind of league, as Cole Porter wrote, "anything goes"

Yes I agree, I always thought the point of $999 leagues was the chance for basically unlimited roster changes...Good Luck!!

I've never played $999, but I was in a $250 league once and found that, given the limit to the number of players on a roster, and the pricing, available players, the absolute maximum I or any other manager could spend was about $225M. The drop cost all season was 10% and I had 25M to play with. This seemed designed to encourage roster changes.

Anyway, I made a LOT of roster changes with all of that spare cash—including adding and dropping distinct SPs on a situational basis— and nobody objected, or even seemed to notice. I'd say, "Go for it!"
