Hey Rick, as a retro keeper, we always identify the season by the card set in use. Do you mean the 2015 season?

I've always gone by the year we are playing the game for example this 2014 card set is being played in 2015 so if I'm offering a 2016 1st rd FA pick to trade for a current prospect pick then I'm trading a 1st rd FA for the 2015 'card set'. You buying what I'm selling??? that is the question.

I'm a bigger fan of football then baseball, and in fact prefer Strat's football game to the baseball ( if we were comparing the board games), so that's why my forum name is what it is, but yes anyone who has known me on these boards will tell you I'm a Mets fan, that's no secret, and I'm not the only one in this league. It just happens to work out that the Mets are loaded with young talent. Was very worried about Syndergaard making it to me, and would have taken him first overall had I retained that pick. I need pitching more than hitting at this point in my rebuild, and most of the depth at hitting was at SS and 3b where I have young players already.

So fortunately, things worked out and I got Thor about where he should have gone, and was able to add a young 1b in the bargain. Had Schwarber been available I'd have taken him over Conforto, but Conforto's numbers just to good to pass up. OF still an area of need on my squad.

I understand the logic -- and it is common in standard keepers. Doesn't work for a retro keeper, though, since we have also played the 2012 and 2013 card sets in this real-world year of 2015.
