Regarding the "strict" modification of draft rules for the last 2 rounds, does the skipping of letters to accommodate the draft needs of those individuals affect everyone else's draft order also?

Example: Manager #1 needs to skip from V to B to get a second catcher. Does Manager #2 start at letter C for their next pick? I assume so, but just want to make sure.

That is correct.

Again, that is only if you NEED to. it may not affect everyone, but help to make sure we are all compliant.

I have 2 ideas in my head, the strict and the non-strict. Let's take a vote.

STRICT:

Rules in effect for final 2 rounds only:

All previous rules still take effect. This will only affect a small portion of people.

If, and only if, the letter you are drafting on does not offer you a usable slot (i.e. you've already drafted all 11 pitchers and only pitchers are available on your letter, you filled all your hitters and only hitters are available) then you may skip to the next letter that does. You can NOT use any other passes in conjunction with this rule. You must take a player under 1 mil, as we don't want people using this rule to grab good people at the end.

This will not cover your ability afford said player. If you need to drop to add (due to being over the cap) you still must drop a top 5 salaried player for a cheaper one first.

To make this clear as can be, let's go over some examples

Example 1: Last round, you have .62 mil cap space left and need 1 hitter. You get stuck on J, of which you haven't drafted. The cheapest hitter left is .83 mil. to bad, drop a top 5 salaried player for a cheaper player of the same letter then take your J.

Example 2: You are on your 2nd to last turn and need 2 pitchers. You get stuck on V and all V pitchers are gone. You can skip ahead to the next letter that any pitcher available that is under 1 mil. Take said player.

Example 3: Last turn and just need a 2nd Catcher, and your letter has no C. Skip to the NEXT available C less than 1 mil. Take said player. Again, make sure you can afford him, if not drop a top 5 salaried player.

Any questions/concerns with this ruling?

Again, I will re-iterate, this does not absolve the first set of rules as the main set. These skipping ones will only help a small amount of people. Another Example:

Example 4: Last turn, you have 1.2 mil cap space left. All you need is ANY hitter. You get stuck on 'i' and the only 'i' left is Ishikawa at 2.08 mil left. That does not absolve you to skip forward, please drop a player and pick him up.

NON-STRICT:

Last 2 rounds are just for cheap backups (can be swapped later for same letter). Last 2 rounds will be lightning rounds for everyone. you automatically skip ahead to the next .50 player that fills an empty spot and take them, no matter the letter. Everyone gets 2 .50 player in the last 2 rounds just to make sure we meet the draft requirements. If you need C and a RP, go to the next .50 that fills one of those needs. Last round, just need any hitter, grab the next .50 hitter.

So please vote Strict or Non-Strict. I will abstain and keep the voting Odd numbered.

Also, while voting, I never did state waivers or Frenzy. I would leave towards a frenzy myself, but let's vote on that too.

Please respond with:

Name - Strict (or Non-Strict) - Frenzy (or waivers)

Here you go LMB.

Strict and Waivers won in voting.

Since we have to autodraft 11 pitchers (5 sp, 4 rp only, 1 closer and 1 other) and 14 hitters ( 2 catchers) and we must stay at 25 all season long then I am assuming that we have to stay with 11 pitchers and 14 hitters as set up in the autodraft. Can we change after the draft to any configuration as long as we follow the drop/add letter rules and keep 25 total?

Yes, this is only to be draft eligible. After that you can go to 10 pitchers/15 hitters, 12 pitchers/13 hitters, I don't care. As long as you follow the "Letter-for-Letter" rule (drop an A for an A) the configuration is up to you.

This really becomes an issue with the i, u, v, q, y, z players where there are NONE to swap with in FA. Even those as n, o, e there will be few desirable players.

But with the B, c, m, p, s, etc etc that have quite a few, that is where you will see most of the action.

OF course trades are allowed as long as all the letter match up (a, b, c for a, b, c)

not that I have a lot to trade, but I do have $15M left. not by choice just havent had the chance to draft big $ guys. so, if any of you that may be in money trouble want to look to lessen your $ load. Check and see if we can do a letter for letter trade. I still need SS and SP. I have little chance of exchanging players later as I have all of those letters geekor mentioned as hard to change or gone and none of the letters that he said would be where changes happen. can't change out if I never pick that letter. But I do have $, so get in touch if you want to relieve your financial strain.
