Likely 36??

Getting swept in the 1st playoff round seems to have knocked me out. Danm it!

Those of us in the final 36 should be rooting for J-Pav and Blue Turtle to beat, respectively, Gbrookes and Mpcharette in the Event 5 League 8 semi-finals. It would not only help our seeding positions (at least the positions of those in the top 17), it would also mean we could finalize the seedings sooner.

Too sad, that would have been a cinderella story. Still a 18-6 finish to make things interesting is a nice feat.

sigh....I made 3 playoffs but only garnered 3 extra points in doing so, and finished 2 points from making it into the final 36.

Time to start planning for next year I guess.

Spots 33 to 48 in the tour rankings were seperated by 10 wins. Making the cutoff has been extremely competitive.

I'm curious to hear from guys like Mike and Chris their thoughts on the point system. It's easy to like the system when everything works out for you, personally. But missing it by an eyelash, did they feel like they had a fair shake? Is it any better to lose "on the field" than it would have been to find themselves in the same predicament as a result of a few extra points being assigned (when a single point is the difference between 36th and 37th place)?

Personally, I have zero complaints about the rules, the format, or the tournament in general. I understood what I had to do, it was all earned "on the field" (virtually at least), and I cannot complain about not having my opportunities to "control my own destiny".

That said, I would also not complain if a decision was made to award a small number of bonus points to the champion. (perhaps 2 to round to an even 10). However, even there, the fact that the first tiebreaker is the championships largely alleviates that point.

This was my first time in the tournament, and actually, these were the first 5 teams I had ever drafted in any single season card set save for one franchise league (where I only had a limited number of players to choose from), so I am extremely happy with my performance. No hard feelings at winding up close but not quite in, although I would like to talk to HAL about some of the moves he made late in the season. We may not be renewing his contract for next season.

I like the new system. It seems simpler & fairer. I hope you stick with it.

Once I learn how to put together a non $80M/DH team (or figure out how Marc puts his teams together) I'll be fine.
