That's the story of our season ....

Ouch. That's a tough start in one runners.

This prompted me to take a look at the Pythags. Admittedly it's early, but no one is more than two games plus or minus pythag so far.

We shall see if that continues. Big A, I suspect that you will get closer than -8 at some point this season.

LOL Big A, you're hitting WAAAAY over what you should. ;)

We've been on a bit of a roll also. Despite losing Tulo (no surprise) for five of the past eight, we've gone 4-1. He'll miss three more tonight. We tried to build enough offense to cover for his absences so we'll see.

Some notes from the 42 game mark.
- Dale made a ton of moves. Not sure what to make of them yet. Dale comments?
- EVERY team in the West is below .500 and has a minus run dif!
- EVERY team in the Central is at .500 or above. (Why does this seem to always happen in my division????? ) and only Dale has a minus run diff (barely it's -1)
- Only four teams have positive run difs
- Only three teams are over .500
- OTOH four teams are exactly .500 and Stoney is only 2 under.

In other news, what do you guys think about the change of the default drop penalty?

Well, lost 2 of three to the Indians and now play a big series with Smokey-mon with a one game lead. Should be exciting. Glad to have Tulo back for sure. 8-)

I think the change of the default drop penalty is a good move. New players can make adjustments without such a big loss and, therefore, experiment more easily.

My team still seems to be playing over their heads. Nothing looks particularly good on the stats side (as usual a few over their heads and a few under), but the wins seem to be there.

Yeah, it is probably a good move. From a selfish perspective I liked the 20% cut because in AD leagues I knew there were be 1-2 teams that would cut their way into oblivion. :P

I'll see if I can get some time today to run some preliminary ratings on at least the top teams to see if, as you say Spider, they are "playing over their heads." ;) 8-)

We just scored 12 runs in 1 game. :D

Usually we need to go 2 series to get that many.

Anyone else out there?

We've been pretty hot so far. I'm not sure we can keep it up. However, Smokey is right behind us so we may *have* to.

Heck, poor Semper has the fourth best record and he's in third place six out! I hate being in the best division. :( The Central has three of the four teams that are over .500. Amazing balance in this league for the most part!

Only two teams are more than 4 games out of a playoff spot and in the West, there is a three-way tie for second.... a game out!  :o :o :o
