For both free agent draft and prospect draft, I will input teams who have traded for other team's pick(s) when I get a chance. So for example, if you have traded for a 1st round FA pick, it won't show up on the draft order yet.
I know that's how the other league is, but the rules in this league just say "..last season"... It's actually worse for me if we use the combined records, so maybe I should shutup!
Jack, do you remember if you used season 1 and 2 records or just the second season for FA/prospect draft?
I just found this old post from travelingjack where a vote to combine seasons for division assignments did not pass by super majority (needed 16 votes, only received 14). I'll look some more when I have time.
1st Season Alignment- Based on previous 2 seasons (1 card year) record. So for the 2012 cards the division alignments will be based on a team's record for the two 2011 seasons.
2nd Season Alignment- Random, using randomizer.org.
This proposal would eliminate any incentive to lose in the 1st season to get into a weak division in the 2nd season. For the 1st season "tanking" would be somewhat reduced by using both seasons' and the relatively large year to year changes in teams' fortunes. Of course we could always just go with random alignment for both seasons.

I did a quick check back and I think that at least for past two years the FA draft and prospect draft order were based only on records from season 2. The mid-season FA draft is based on 1st season, so the order above is good I believe.
