New League - Fair to Middlin' 2015

PostTue Oct 27, 2015 9:59 pm

In Fall, 2014 we ran one of these leagues. It was so popular, we developed a second one as well.

We use a mid level cap and mid level players. No star years, no scrub years.

On opening day, and throughout the season, all hitters must be salaried between 2 and 9 mil, starters between 2 and 9 mil, relievers between 1 and 4.5 mil. Any ballpark you choose. No other restrictions.

We have one person who joined the league by mistake and wants out. Can someone volunteer to take over his team?

I'll do it. I was in this league last year and won 107 games and got a ring. It was a very competitive league and was a lot of fun.

It sounds like the manager who wants out took my spot. I was going to enter a team first thing Thursday morning, but, surprisingly, the league went from 8 teams to 12 teams over night.

I hope this team is not a disaster. Hopefully the league held off on running waivers to give the new manager a chance to be competitive. My guess is that every hitter and pitcher with a salary just below $9 mil is gone and that all relief pitchers with a salary just above $1 mil and just below $4.5 mil are gone. Reserves at just above $2 mil are likely gone as well.

I take it that there will be no objection to letting me pick a new park if needed and that I'll be playing without wasting one of my credits SOM is usually pretty good about that.

Let me know. - Bernie

OK, I checked out the league. If you'll have me, I figure the team is the Country Dogs 5, as that teams seemed to forget the theme when drafting and hasn't dropped anyone, which means that they got who they wanted in the autodraft and will be drafting low when it comes to waivers.

Regardless of which team I'd get, I'd have to be allowed to change parks if needed, as I'd be starting out in a hole.

If you decide to accept me into the league, please do so ASAP, so that my team can participate in waivers.

I checked the available position players from my last team for this theme, and just 1 is available, which means I have to come up with a completely new concept. My top three starting pitchers, who were a combined 61-24 are gone as well.

This should be a good challenge and a lot of fun. I'm up for it if you'll have me. - Bernie

Actually, the team that wanted out was Oz Munchkins, but as of last night he'd decided to play. We haven't heard from Country Dogs at all since the draft, so I don't even know if he's aware of his situation.

Thanks for the response. OK, I'm available until one hour before waivers runs if you need me. If it's less than an hour before waivers and waivers runs, I'm out. Good luck to all with this league. - Bernie
