I didn't even know you could do a no penalty drop on the offering side, is this really true?

Yes, it is true. It was added a couple years back if memory serves me right. That makes trades a good way to remake a team. You can drop multiple players as part of an offer and clear significant money to rebuild if you realize you layed an egg out of the gate.

Unfortunately, I can tell you why at least SOME people may not even respond/decline a trade offer...i know from my own experience, there have been times I'm in the elevator to work, see a trade offer, but don't have time to really examine it. So i figure I'll revisit it when I have some free time, and then inevitably may forget all about it. So it would show as "read" by the person making the offer, yet they'd get no reply.

Believe me, I HATE when people do that, but since I've recently been guilty of it, I can now understand how it can happen. I'm sure there are others who just ignore the offers for some reason, but I'd like to believe they're all honest mistakes.

Yeah, everyone gets busy and has family and work, but if you sign up for a league you obviously have a few minutes extra time. It only takes a few seconds for a reply..... But I do understand how sometimes you want to reply and just don't get it done. It's cool, just try to be polite,.... right?

That implies you were in a league with multiple people who like to trade.
How many offers did you send out?
How many of the offers made by others to you and accepted were in response to initial offers you sent?

Prior to receiving the offers you accepted, was that an offer you would have thought of yourself?

That last question particularly has a point. There have been times I have been looking for trades that would help my team but did not send an offer asking for certain players because I assumed they would never give up that card. And sometimes I thought there was no match because looking at my own roster did not believe there was anyone the other guy would want. In other words I did not see a mutually beneficial trade combination. But once the trade dialogue got started the other guy comes up with the brilliant trade offer that helps both teams that I just did not see.

Sometimes I wonder if all the teams really are managed by people, and not drafted and set up to start the season, and then put on cruise control.
