2015 Finals - Top 9 and vote

PostThu Nov 12, 2015 2:49 pm

Those fantastically gifted players who finished in the Top 9 get a bye directly to the Barnstormers 2015 Finals !

While the Semi-Finals are going on, the below will be polled IN ORDER to make a selection of what position they want to LIVE DRAFT in. In other words, BruceF will have first choice and he can draft his choice anywhere from 1st to 12th in the Finals LIVE DRAFT.

Also to be determined is YOUR CHOICE of salary cap and DH/NO DH

I'm assuming here that you'll want to choose 80/100 Mil cap but certainly you can choose other caps. FYI Last year was 80 Mil NO DH but other years have seen 100 Mil for the Finals

If more than half of you express an interest in using the SOM Live draft option, it will be done. Otherwise the Diamond Dope LD application will prevail as in the past.

Use this format as an example:

Draft position #1 / 100 Mil / DH/NO DH / SOM LD or DD LD

Thanks and good luck *Tiebreaker

#1 BruceF (558 points)
#2 boyer14 (537 points)
#3 DonFESQ (531 points)
#4 Outta Leftfield (526 points-*549 wins)
#5 cristano1 (526 points-*538 wins)
#6 rburgh (518 points)
#7 bigbadboog (516 points)
#8 labratory (510 points)
#9 Rosie2167 (507 points)

I will make one final declaration - once you have voted your choices, it is NOT ALLOWED to change it, so consider carefully and that 3 more semi-final winners will also have their choice.

Many thanks, as ever, Moose, for managing such a smooth-running tournament. And now a quick question...

I may be missing something, but my impression is that cristano1 wins the tiebreaker ahead of me, and therefore should rank 4th. The rules state:
Tiebreakers
1. Championships won
2. Finals made
3. Playoffs made
4. Regular season total wins

Now, cristano1 and I each won two Championships, but I think he comes in ahead because he made four finals and I made just three. I did have more regular season wins, but that comes lower in the ranking.
Am I wrong about this? Of course, I would be pleased to be ranked 4th, but I think that honor may go to cristano1. ;)

Also, I think that BruceF deserves a special tribute for winning a championship with ALL FIVE of his rated Barnstormer teams. Amazing! :D

I thought when I looked at this earlier that you both had the same number of finals made, but I will look at it again and if necessary, make the required changes.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste - I read somewhere that the average age of the SOM online vet player is well over 50.
I need to get my wife now to be co-commish and check all my work :(

Thanks for the catch....(and the honesty !!) :)

One final thought, if we do wind up choosing the SOM LD, I have settled on a routine that is fair for all, that being it will be on a WEDNESDAY night at 7 PM PST / 10PM EST - but this is also subject to change if the situation warrants it (that is someone has a damned good reason for not being able to make it)

Also, I can REQUEST that SOM have PERSONNEL that will MONITOR this LD in real time for any issues. No guarantee that they will accommodate the request but I will certainly push for it.

We know what we get with a DOPE DRAFT, but the SOM LD can sometimes be a crap shoot. :o

Hi All - not voting out of turn just wanted to point out that we should all be choosing the $200 mil cap...its the only one BruceF didn't win.

I don't know if this is any help or not but it was Bruce's urging (as a Barnstormers board member) that swung me to put a 200 Mil event into the mix. I STILL don't know if it was the right thing to do but while it's nice to speculate on that theory, I'd tend to think that it won't matter too much when going up against Bruce. :|
