Actually planned on beign gracious congratulating you on kicking my butt in the finals. But then you took Cone.
Seriously though, great season to you and the other managers. Looking for that spark to change my luck. I'm thinking of drafting all Cubs this year. That should turn around my long stretch without a championship.
Thanks for you "planned" congrats. Turnabout is fair play: you took Rijo from me, so Cone was next on my list (in a virtual coin flip with Appier, who is now also gone).
In all seriousness, thanks, that was a fun a competitive season throughout. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay with the same starting rotation pretty much the whole season, which made a huge difference. I almost dropped both Schilling and Harnisch at different times, but there wasn't anything better out there, and both of them turned it around.
Speaking of Cubs... I will pass on one "trade secret" out of the goodness of my heart: Tom Goodwin might be the best value card in this set. I've had him on both of my teams in our series so far. At worst, he's a good pinch runner or 4th OF. At best, he's a pretty solid lead off or #2 hitter. If you get his 3L card, he is a lights out reverse platoon hitter. If his arm bothers you, put him in LF if you can get away with it. In short, he is a great backup plan for the OF. I realize by passing this on that I probably won't get him this time around, but I use him so often I don't mind experimenting with other players.
