Ah, ok got it. Too bad in a way, I'd like to know as well. I find it very hard to believe that a bunt for a base hit could turn into a homerun

I agree. and it had to be a bunt for a base hit, cuz it was the leadoff batter in the game. 1st inning, 1st batter.

weird.....

So, I guess the Maximum Rules default option is in effect in online SOM, which allows the game engine to alter results with dice adjustments.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DICE ADJUSTMENTS - Random numbers are used with a series of complex calculations to determine whether or not to override certain play results. If this determination is made another dice roll is made internally and the final play result is displayed on the screen.

Guys, I'm not sure I understand your posts, it was, it must have been bunt for a hit, 1AND2 result (which means bunt failed and Hal has to decide what to do, Hal decided to abandon the bunt and let Lough hit, and Lough hit a homerun.

I buy that Marc. sounds good. do we not see roll results in such a case?

We should see the roll results...probably a programming failure...just like with the hit-and-run..we don't see the roll results when the rolls are on the pitcher's card. Consider this example

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/ga ... 428268/228

see the last inning...

Turner goes with the hit-and-run, the result is clearly 6-12 (the only roll that can result in a pitcher's injury), but it's not written

I wrote in myself this weekend. Here is the reply I received this morning:

Hi Steve,

This is a weird one but not unexplainable. Lough attempted to bunt got the result 1 AND 2, meaning the pitcher threw a ball and the batter fouled off two pitches. The computer manager has to decide whether to stay with the bunt despite two strikes or swing away. Lough swung away and homered however our display did not overwrite bunt when a second 'dice roll' was made. Thanks for letting us know about this one.

Sincerely,

just as we called it. Marc nailed it and the "bunt" wording should have probably never been displayed and simply shown the dice roll that resulted in the home run
