Franky - If I understand the rules correctly, if you take an expansion team, you get to select 15 (non-protected) players during an expansion draft from other selected teams as well as 2 picks from non-selected teams. So if I take the Astros I'd have the 12 Astro players plus 15 players from the expansion draft plus 2 players from the non-selected draft for a total of 29 players to play the season. Do I have this right?

Yes, that is correct. And if no one picks the Mets, you would be picking first in the 1st round and 2nd round.
